The 3rd generation Pure Strikes are here! Babolat has added a heavier weight class option for those players looking for even more stability and mass. Weighing in at 11.3 oz unstrung, the Pure Strike Tour provides a great option for players wanting additional plow through and mass. This will result in a more powerful ball strike making the ball heavier and add depth to your shots. Combining the smaller headsize (98 sq inches) with a standard string pattern (16x19), the Pure Strike Tour provides a little easier spin potential than the 18x20 model. In addition, the higher swing weight for this frame can help absorb shock, maintain consistent swings, and add additional stability when going against hard hitting opponents. Just like the previous generation, this one has a hybrid frame construction (i.e. Control Frame Technology) resulting in a frame that is firm for power yet is flexible enough to provide control. In addition, FSI Power is back which makes it easier to generate spin and power (i.e. wider string spacing) than other racquets in this category. Not to be outdone, the biggest change comes in the addition of C2 Pure Feel technology. Essentially this consists of a special material being added at 3 & 9 o'clock resulting in long ball dwell time on strings and increased comfort. While some frames dampen the ball shock too much, Babolat has done a great job at finding a balance in this racquet to allow the player comfort without sacrificing response. Final Thought: High intermediate/advanced players who take huge cuts at the ball will benefit greatly from the Pure Strike Tour. Featuring an extremely solid feel, amazing plow through, and additional swingweight (due to extra weight), you will push your opponent around the court with ease.
